1st person I saw in school was Ong Wei Lam. I didn't expect him there but it wasnt something special, I guessed teacher needed him that much that he was called back to help. Walked around the school till I saw Pn.Low, then work was coming along. Saw Xin Yi, Ee-Leen and Qian Nee when we were having the briefing. Then we had to arrange the chairs, I think we arranged around more than 300 chairs around the assembly spot.Pn.Azlina and some of the other teachers were shocked to see me helping around. She even said "Eh, Gabriel, kelas form 6 belum start lagi lar", I just laughed my way through.
Matthew passed me the camera and asked me to take pictures, so I went around taking pictures and I saw Pn. Amalia holding a larger camera taking pictures too. So we asked En.Nasir to take a picture of us.
Then it was the speeches, then havoc started. Too many students got a D in BM and have to be put into remove class, problem was that our school had a lack of teachers and couldn't afford to open one. So, Pn.Azlina had to turn down around 20+ students and asked them to register at BSD2. Too bad for them. Then I had to get my copy of my school leaving certificate since I was going to register at TAR College that day. Unfortunately, the office hadn't have my copy done, so I had to wait for them to finish it. After everything was settled, I helped the team cleaning up all the chairs, tables, benches and stuff, then saw Sarah. I thought she was going to hold the treasurer position next year but it turns out she was moving to St.Mary. Pff, almost a year wasted to train her up, now have to get another one to replace.
Well, after that I just sat in the office waiting for my cert to be ready. Then, suddenly Pn.Siti came over and asked whether I was free for a week. I said I had some time, then she asked whether I could be a volunteer teacher in the meantime because the school lacked teachers for a week. So, I said "okay!". The experience was worth it since I would be wasting my time anyway. Went back home around 12.30.
I came back, had my shower and departed right away to TAR College. Stopped somewhere near Batu Caves to have lunch. Then arrived at TAR College at around 2.15. Went to the admission block to apply for admission. The funny thing was my dad had to walk to the bursary department to pay RM25 then walk back.
Why couldn't they just put a counter beside there to do all the procedures at one place? Wasn't for me to question that. We were told we had to wait 2 hours for the offer letter to come out. We had a walk to the School of Pre-University studies to do more enquiries. We kept asking the lady there, Ms Hong, a lot of questions, then talked, suddenly I realised that we talked for almost 2 hours. Then walked back to collect the offer letter. Yay, they accepted me =).
Then I spend the rest of the day in Ampang. Ahh, sadly didnt go for countdown with friends. Dad countdown at home, but nobody was in the mood, so he just poured himself some whisky and drank.Anyway, Happy New Year 2010!!
